Kim GILWONG

Plastic artist born in 1977 in South Korea, Kim GILWONG pursues in France his poetic research between technology and light. Recurrent theme in his work: the plane (origami, Plexiglas) is only here to highlight his research of the human being progression towards ephemeral balance in which the world seems to be in suspension. Strangeness of time and space and cultural signs of which we are impregnated. Balance, lightness, minimal harmony between raw materials (aluminium, pieces of glass of Murano) and technological materials (Plexiglas, electronic systems) are at the center of his research. He resolutely posits himself in a futuristic approach where, nevertheless, the artistic work remains imprinted with Korean artistic tradition, and in the same time integrates the codes of consumerism "mass media". A rare work, playful and dream-like.
