Charles Langellier called "LANGE" was born in Paris in 1974. After his Baccalauréat, he goes to Belgium to follow his studies in sculpture and furniture design in the institute Saint Luc de Tournai. Three years later, he comes back to Paris and enrolls in l'Ecole Boulle where he gets a diploma in marquetry on the theme of the mask. He finishes his studies by a diploma of interior design where he works on painting with the same theme: masks. Once he is done with studying, he devotes himself to painting. He starts with a research on "Black identity" with classic portraits referring to family portraits. His work evolves and he becomes interested in popular imagery of comics and old advertising (ref.
