Ex-member of "Musulmans Fumants", an emblematic association of Parisian urban art in the 80's and sometimes assimilated with free figuration, Philippe Waty was also the official graphist of the magazine "Actuel" in the same period. His paintings, abstract and colored signs testify of his world-wide influences: Oriental for the written form, Asian for the colors, and Indian for the circular symmetry. His symbolic approach evokes logos, but also primitive shapes. He creates thus, an art that is modern and ancestral at the same time, intimate and universal.
