06 September 2018 - 06 October 2018

Sea pixels.

During his wanderings on the beaches of the île de Ré, the sculptor Christian Nesler “photographs” in his way of the remains of failed trawlers.

Original pirate, he brings back his invaluable booty of materials in his workshop. Then he cuts in the chain saw the hulls to transform them in regular squares such as the “pixels”. Then he assembles them according to abstract compositions where materials and colors create singular atmospheres.

Sculptured “paintings”, wooden photos, marquetry? … Every piece is unique. We do not exactly know how to name this work where we can read superimposing of stories, a game on the concept nature / culture, a work on the memory, a new birth.
